OUR GOAL:

Increase authentic reading comprehension by at least one year in every classroom as measured by Teacher's College (T.C) Running records

THEORY OF ACTION

  • Use baseline data and other tests to assess and flexibly group students for targeted instruction.

  • Use reciprocal approach to teaching to build reading comprehension and language skills.

  • Use Close reading strategies to build comprehension.

MATHEMATICS

OUR GOAL:

Increase computational fluency and problem solving skills across all grades as measured by Common Core aligned baseline and benchmark assessments.

 

THEORY OF ACTION

  • Use baseline data ECAM (grades K-2) and SchoolNet (grades 3-5) and other test to assess and flexibly group students for targeted instruction.

  • Include "Number Talks" as a daily part of classroom routines.

  • Create data driven, skills based, instruction and assessments as a part of our daily/weekly teaching.

WRITING

OUR GOALS:

Increase authentic writing skills of all students by at least one grade level across all writing genres as measured by On-Demand writing assessments.

THEORY OF ACTION

  • Implement Teachers College Writing Units of Study with fidelity across all classrooms.

  • Use On-Demand Writing data to plan and execute small group instruction to meet the needs of  students.
