INSTRUCTIONAL FOCUS
Our focus builds on the fundamentals: Reading, Mathematics & Writing
READING
OUR GOAL:
To increase the percentage of students on or above grade level by 15% as measured by the ELA i-Ready test.
- K-5 teachers implement Into Reading daily as the core reading curriculum.
- K-2 teachers teach fundational reading skills daily through Fundations and Heggerty
- 3-5 teachers provide standards-based instruction daily during the Close Reading block.
- K-5 teachers meet weekly in teacher teams to analize student data and plan learning activities for MTSS tiers.
- All reading teachers plan and execute station and small group activities based on student data.
- MTSS tiers determined based on data collected and supports provided by intervention teachers.

MATHEMATICS
OUR GOAL:
To increase the percentage of students on or above grade level by 15% as measured by the Math i-Ready test.
- K-5 teachers implement Eureka Math daily as the core math curriculum.
- K-5 teachers meet weekly in teacher teams to analyze student data and plan learning activities for MTSS tiers.
- All math teachers flexibly group students for daily targeted small group instructions & SDI practice stations to build mathematical thinking.
- All math teachers explicitly teach the Three Reads & Read, Draw, Write approaches to solving math numbers stories.
- MTSS tiers determined based on data collected and supports provided by intervention teachers.
WRITING
OUR GOAL:
80% of students in each class will write a two point short response to grade level texts on four of five attempts.
- K-5 teachers implement HMH Writing during each writing period.
- K-5 teachers analyze constructed response data to group students based on their learning needs.
- All writing teachers use data to plan station activities, small group lessons, and writing conferences to meet individual learning needs.
- All writing teachers use HMH rubrics & short response rubrics to measure student growth & plan instructional strategies.
- All students receive self, peer, & teacher feedback to increase student achivement in writing.
